Yadav said, “All parties are unanimously democratic in ensuring 27 per cent reservation to the Other Backward Classes.” Chaired by the CM, the meeting saw rare political unity, with all major parties — Congress, Aam Aadmi Party and Samajwadi Party — backing the resolution. Legal experts will now deliberate to find a viable way to implement the increased quota before the Supreme Court, where the matter is currently pending. Back in 2019, the then Congress-led government had raised OBC quota from 14% to 27% in government jobs and education. The decision was challenged and is now under judicial review. The elderly man, who lived alone, had reportedly not been seen for two days. The matter came to light when his nephew visited the house and found a foul odour emanating from inside. The deceased was identified as Vijendra Singh, a resident of Bhisti Mohalla. He lived alone, twice married but divorced both times, with no children. His nephew, Aminendra Singh Baish, a college professor, told police that he had gone to meet his uncle on Thursday afternoon as he had not seen him for a long time. On reaching the house, he found it locked from inside. A foul odour was emanating from the premises, so he sought the help of a neighbour to enter. Once inside, they were shocked to find stray dogs feeding on Vijendra’s body. One of his arms and a leg had already been eaten. The house was reportedly in a dilapidated condition, due to which the dogs could enter easily unnoticed. Police were informed immediately and they sent the body for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. The incident has raised serious concerns about the difficulty of elderly people living alone, with no one to check on their well-being. In this case, it was only due to the nephew’s visit that the incident was discovered; otherwise, no one would have known about his death. ‘NUKE INDIA’ SCRIBBLED ON US SHOOTER’S WEAPONS PTI NEW YORK/WASHINGTON A shooter who opened fire at a Minneapolis Catholic School, killing two children, had 'Nuke India' written on one of the guns, according to video footage of the alleged arsenal used by him. The shooter, identified as Robin Westman, 23, from Minnesota, opened fire in the Annunciation Catholic School on Wednesday killing two children aged 8 and 10 and injuring 17 people. Westman then allegedly killed himself. Video footage circulating online allegedly showed Westman displaying his ammunition, rifles and guns. 'Nuke India' is written in white on one of the guns.
