The budget consisting of several new projects focused on the poor, youths, farmers, and women. According to the budget, the Ladli Behna scheme will be linked with three welfare schemes of the Central Government. The Ladli Behna Yojna will be linked to the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Beema Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Suraksha Beema Yojna and Atal Pension Yojna. Such people as come under the Ladli Behna scheme will be given the benefits of the pension and insurance. The budget also consists of Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Yojna to run government buses, Mukhyamantri Krishak Mitra Surya Yojna to give solar pumps to farmers, and Aviral Narmada Yojna for the Narmada River. Some initial provisions have been made for these projects. Keeping in mind the traffic gridlocks in big cities, an announcement has been made to run cable cars. Similarly, to protect the environment, buses will be run in big cities. In the budget, a sum of Rs 100 crore has been earmarked to set up Gita Bhawan in various districts. A provision has been made for setting up Mukhyamantri Vrindavan Gram Yojna to develop villages with the help of local resources. Funds have also been set aside for building Shri Krishna Path and Ram Van Gaman Path. Mukhyamantri Krishak Unnati Yojna Nitendra Sharma Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s first full budget consists of Gau, the Gita, Ram, Krishna, Ladli, Youth and Udyog. It is a blend of religion and development. Because of the Lok Sabha election, a supplementary budget was presented for four months last year. The actual budget was only for eight months. This year the government presented a ‘no-negative budget’ in which an effort has been made to do a balancing act besides linking the Ladli Behna Yojna with pension and insurance schemes is an important step. The move has opened the door to assistance from the Central Government. Keeping a provision for setting up a state-level insurance committee in the budget is an innovative idea. The ordinary people across the state have to face a lot of problems in getting their insurance claims. The cases pile up. So, the committee will work out all the cases for providing hassle-free insurance benefits. The provision for giving incentives to industries is another move in the right direction. Arrival of industries in the state is necessary for employment. Similarly, setting Devi Ahilyabai Kaushal Vikas programme Mukhyamantri Majratola Sadak Yojna Construction of hostels for women workers Mukhyamantri Dairy Vikas Yojna Mukhyamantri Samriddh Parivar Yojna Van Vigyan Kendra Development of buffer zones in tiger reserve projects Chief Minister Mohan Yadav with Deputy CM Jagdish Devda inVidhan Sabha on Wednesday CM Yuva Shakti Yojna CM Care Scheme Modern sports stadium to be set up in each district Reconstruction of damaged bridges CM: FOCUS IS ON WELFARE CM Mohan Yadav said that the Budget was dedicated to welfare of GYAN—Garib Kalyan, Yuva Shakti, Annadata and Nari Shakti . He said that it ensures holistic development across all sectors and is focused on public welfare. Reaffirming the government’s commitment to improving living standards, he highlighted schemes like Ladli Behana and Ladli Laxmi. A significant allocation of Rs2,005 crore has been made for Simhastha 2028. CM linked the budget to PM Narendra Modi’s Vision 2047, stating that along with Vikshit Bharat 2047, MP has set its own roadmap under Vikshit Madhya Pradesh 2047 to accelerate the state’s progress. NO-NEGATIVE budget by Mohan govt BHOPAL Cable cars will operate in big cities of state Effort has been made to do a balancing act besides linking the Ladli Behna Yojna with pension and insurance schemes up skill development centres like ITIs will help the youth. The budget has tried to infuse new blood into the state economy by making provisions for infrastructure, developing religious places, and for booting tourism. Another important aspect is that the government not only maintained the schemes launched by the Shivraj government but also announced several projects. The employees expected the government to carry out old pension scheme and hike dearness allowance. They have to wait for DA. But taking a decision on OPS is out of the ambit of the BJP-led state governments, so the employees have to wait until the Central government takes a decision on the issue. What the people of the state want is some relief on petrol and diesel rates, which the government may do by increasing tax on liquor. Nevertheless, because the budget is without such a provision, they may have to wait for some time for a decision on it. `30K cr for industries to boost jobs The state government will provide a Rs 30,000 crore incentive to industries, aiming to generate largescale employment, Principal Secretary of Finance Department Manish Rastogi said on Wednesday. Speaking to mediapersons at the assembly auditorium after the budget presentation, Rastogi said that the initiative would significantly boost industrial growth and job creation. Finance Minister Jagdish Devda was also present during the interaction. Zero-based budgeting for 1st time For the first time, the state government has prepared the budget using ZeroBased Budgeting (ZBB) to ensure judicious use of allocated funds. As part of this approach, the Finance Department scrutinised every expenditure, ensuring that no scheme had excess provisions. The objective of Zero-Based Budgeting is to align departmental budgets closely with actual expenditures. briefs NEW DELHI NEW YORK/WASHINGTON QUETTA Retail inflation eases to 3.6%, IIP rises 5% ‘India charges 150% tariff on US alcohol’ Pak train attack over, some hostages dead The year-on-year inflation rate, based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI), eased to an 7-month low of 3.61 per cent in February this year, which is 0.65 per cent lower than the corresponding figure for January, as food prices came down further during the month.
