This is the lowest temperature recorded in the city this season. It was a four degree Celsius fall in the mercury level when compared to the previous day. Previously, it was on December 15 and December 24 of 2021 when the city recorded 3.4 degrees Celsius. Moreover, it was on December 11, 1966 when Bhopal recorded 3.1 degrees Celsius. On Saturday, the day temperature in the city was at 24.5 degrees Celsius. Indore recorded 24.6 degrees Celsius day temperature and 8.9 degrees Celsius night temperature. Major drop in night temperature was recorded in Bhopal and Ujjain, which recorded a 3.5-degrees Celsius drop. According to the meteorological department, anticyclonic circulation lies over East Rajasthan. The main increase in the per capita production of fruits and vegetables has been in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and J&K. The report said India produces 227 kg of fruits and vegetables per person per year (the general recommendation for its intake is at least 146 kg per person annually). However, due to the inherent perishable nature of the produce, a significant quantity also perishes dur- ing harvest, storage, grading and transport. The report also said the impact of extreme climate on foodgrain production is negative. Agriculture production and supply chains have been affected by multiple heat and cold waves in the past few years. The impact of these heat and cold waves is negative on foodgrain production as most states have a negative correlation between foodgrain production and extreme weather conditions. On Friday, businessman Manoj Parmar and his wife Neha Parmar were found dead in their house in Ashta of Sehore district. A purported suicide note that surfaced on social media, the businessman urged Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders not to leave his children alone and accused the ED and BJP leaders of harassment. Reasons behind raid The ED Bhopal zonal officer has carried out search operations on the residential and office premises of the Parmars in Sehore and Indore districts in connection with a money laundering case on December 5.
