The workers tried to revive the leopard by sprinkling water over it but when it did not respond the workers dragged it to the roadside. The Forest Department team found the carcass of the leopard and CCTV footage. A team reached the spot and documented the events. This is not the first time that a leopard has strayed out of its habitat. In fact, the recent construction activity on the Indore – Khandwa highway has meant that most animals have lost their homes and wander here and there in search of new habitats, posing a great danger to their lives. Panagar police station incharge Ajay Bahadur Singh told Free Press that the girl had gone to attend nature's call around 6 pm on Tuesday but did not return home. Her family members and others launched a search, and hours later found her body by the side of a pond, sans her undergarments. The family members and villagers grew furious, and they set ablaze a liquor shop in the vicinity believing that one of the boozers might have raped the girl and then killed her. After he slid into depression, his social circle had shrunk too, and he was suffering from other diseases apart from depression, such as Thyroid and High Blood pressure. ‘PROCESS OF DEPOSITING ARMS WAS UNDERWAY’ When Free Press questioned the Commissioner of Police (CP) Harinarayanachari Mishra regarding how Nadir shot himself when the Model Code of Conduct was in force and every person possessing arms was required to deposit it with the police station, he said he had already applied at the Shyamala Hills police station for the deposition of his rifle, and the process was underway.
