The explosion ripped through the railway station of the provincial capital Quetta at 8:25 am, as passengers gathered on the platform to board the Jaffar Express, scheduled to depart for Peshawar at 9:00 am. There were around 100 people on the platform when the blast occurred. "So far, we have received 27 bodies and at least 62 people are injured, with some in critical condition," said Dr Wasim Baig of the Quetta Trauma Centre. Dr Arbab Kamran Kasi, Managing Director of the Trauma Centre, warned that the death toll may increase since several wounded individuals, aged 20 to 50, remain in critical condition. His body was found hanging in Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh. As per MP HC order, the concerned inquiry officer of the case shall visit the burial place and take out the body in the presence of the appellants. Thereafter, re-postmortem will be done and the report shall be placed on record. Chief Justice Suresh Kumar Kaith and Justice Vivek Jain passed the order. Deceased daughter Laleshwari Sahu had filed petition in MP HC. Shiv Prasad Sahu alias Kacharu, had played a key role in ex-communicating some members of the Sahu community. Kacharu, a farmer and Sahu community leader from Loharidih in Chhattisgarh's Kawardha district, was found dead around 10km away in Birsa police station area of Balaghat on the morning of Sept 15, 2024. The case was brought before a division bench of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice BD Guru of Chhattisgarh High Court.
