ADG Cyber crime, Yogesh Deshmukh said that Vivek Oberoi is an industrialist working in Dubai. He was at his residence in Arera Hills, Bhopal with his family. On Saturday, he got a call from TRAI legal cell officer, Mumbai cyber-crime cell in- spector Vikram Singh and CBI Officer Manesh Kalwaniya through different social media platforms. He was told to download a social media app on his mobile and be online the ADG said. The fake officials began collecting information about his Aadhaar card, bank details and other personal details. When Vivek refused to share the details, the accused threatened him that he and his family will be harmed if he did not obey their orders. Meanwhile, one of his friends made several calls to Vivek. When he did not respond, he reached his house and wanted to know his whereabouts. The family members told him that they are in problem and are tensed. The friend immediately contacted cyber police. The police assured the victim there is nothing like digital arrest. The ADG said that the family is well to do and they would have paid crores to the fraudster if the police had not rescued them. Probably Canada connection came in the killings. Gwalior superintendent of police (SP) Dharmveer Singh told reporters that Navjot Singh and Amarpreet Singh, who were allegedly hired to carry out the killing, were arrested from Faridkot, Punjab. The duo who were wanted in connection with another murder in Faridkot, will be brought to Gwalior after legal formalities, he said. He said that Punjab police cooperated to round up the accused, both in their 30s and a probe is underway to find out who had hired them and which gang they belonged to. The SP said the duo had stayed in a hotel in the state. They arrived on a motorcycle and shot the victim Jaswant Singh Gill, outside his house in Dabra area, around 40 km from district headquarters, on Thursday night. The duo pumped three bullets from close range and Gill slumped on the spot, he said. A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of the Army's special forces laid down his life on Sunday, while three more soldiers were injured in a gunfight with terrorists in a remote forest area in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district, officials said. The operation comes amid an intensified hunt underway since the killing of two Village Defence Guards (VDGs) recently. The Army identified the fallen hero as Naib Subedar Rakesh Kumar of 2 Para and saluted his supreme sacrifice.
