But, at the same time, the old system also continues, if someone chooses to stick to that. Addressing a gathering in Varanasi, he said the government not only wants to provide them new market opportunities, but also wants to strengthen the Mandi system. He said the NDA Government is working with the pure intention of encouraging the farmers to spearhead the Atamnirbhar Bharat campaign. The Prime Minister said that earlier small farmers were not able to reach the market; but now with introduction of these laws, they have got many options to sell their produce and also have legal security against any malpractice. Modi alleged that misinformation is being spread by the Opposition parties about the reforms. He noted a new recent trend of every initiative taken by his government being opposed on mere apprehension and based on misconceptions. He said the farmers are naturally worked up since decades of deceit have Terrorism biggest challenge faced by region, says Naidu Asserting that terrorism is the biggest challenge the region is facing, India on Monday criticised Pakistan for using it as an "instrument of state policy", and called upon the SCO to combat the menace collectively and enforce internationally recognised legal statutes to comprehensively eradicate safe havens, infrastructure and financial networks supporting terrorism. In an address at the Council of Heads of Government meeting of the eightmember Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), Vice President Venkaiah Naidu said the most important challenge faced by the region is terrorism, particularly cross-border terrorism, and that India re- mained concerned about threats emerging from ungoverned spaces as well. "Terrorism is truly the . enemy of humanity It is a scourge we need to collectively combat. We remain concerned about threats emerging from ungoverned spaces and are particularly concerned about states that leverage terrorism as an instrument of state pol. icy Such an approach is entirely against the spirit and ideals and the charter of the SCO," he said at the virtual meet hosted by India. He said elimination of this threat will help the countries realise shared potential and create conditions for stable and secure economic growth and sustainable development. He also called upon SCO member states to enforce internationally recognised legal statutes to comprehensively eradicate safe havens, infrastructure and financial networks supporting terrorism, a statement issued by Naidu's office said. 130 khap panchayats of Haryana to join farmer stir +(!0 0!.#(!8!32 /& !18!.! 3 ,%!23 !../4.#%$ 3(!3 3(%8 6),, */). 3(% /.'/).' &!1-%1 !')3!3)/. /. %,() "/1$%12 &1/4%2$!8 ,, +(!0 -%. !1% &)123 &!1-%12 !.$ 3(%. ,%!$%12 +(!0 20/+%20%12/. !'")1 !,)+ 3/,$ 3(% -%$)! However, there are 550 big cats in tiger reserves in Kanha, Bandhav- garh, Pench, Satpura, Panna and Sanjay Gandhi reserve and in the wild, he said, adding that there are 125 cubs in the parks. Kumar said about 10 to 20 more tiger cubs might be roaming in the wild. "They can't be captured as they might be deep inside the jungles. When they turn young and venture out, we would be able to see them," he added. Kumar said movements of tigers were recorded through camera traps, patrolling and other means. Asked about the deaths of 290 tigers since 2002, Kumar said, "As the number of tigers has risen, they are fighting for territorial control. We are losing 25 to 30 striped animals every year. Of them (the deceased tiger), 95 per cent were weak and old. While the remaining five per cent of (290) tigers were killed by poachers or in man-animal conflicts". Mobina, a fifth-grade student hailing from the Pandola village in Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh has been sharing life lessons with trainees of the IAS. This may come as a surprise for many people but it is true that Mobina has been working to light up the lives of women from poor and economically weaker sections in her village. Most of the members of Mobina's family earn their livelihood as daily-wage workers but she, along with her family, started a campaign to transform the lives of the disadvantaged under the Bismillah self2005. in group help Through this self-help group, 10 women joined which initiative this brought about a dramatic transformation in the lives of their families. Mobina says that she, along with 10 women, had collected a small amount to begin with and started helping each other. Gradually, they began getting support at the government level and from banks. As a result, today the lives of these women have changed and each of them is engaged in different businesses. Mobina says that her husband Mohammad Salim used to work as a daily wager. With a meagre income, she could barely grow one crop. As she started earning more, she bought a pump for irrigation and now has started growing two crops. Along with this the income is increasing . steadily Now she has also started giving employment to other people as well. Jugal Soni of the National Livelihood Mission says that Mobina along with her fellow colleagues, has carried out many new innovations that have earned accolades. They are also becoming economically independent.
