In grade 5, rural students achieved a pass percentage of 92.60%, surpassing urban schools at 86.19%. Similarly, in the grade 8, rural schools maintained their lead with a pass percentage of 88.35%, while urban schools lagged at 86.04%. A total of 90.97% of students passed the class 5th board exam, while 87.71% passed the class 8th board exam. The results for grades 5 and 8 were announced by the Rajya Shiksha Kendra on Tuesday . In the 5th grade, government schools lead at 91.53%, followed closely by private schools at 90.18%. However, Madrasa students trailed behind with a pass percentage of 73.26%. Similarly, in the 8th grade, private schools boast the highest pass rate at 90.60%, followed by government schools at 86.22%. Madrasa students fell behind with a pass percentage of only 67.40%. A significant trend this year was the continued dominance of girls in both grade results. Girls outshone boys with pass percentages of 92.41% and 89.56% in the 5th and 8th grades, respectively . CONTD. ON P6 Fire in Kalakund forest FP NEWS SERVICE / Mhow A fire broke at three places in the Kalakund forest area on Tuesday evening, putting the forest department in a tizzy . According to Indore DFO Mahendra Singh Solanki, the fire was in Compartment number 145 (One Compartment measures around 1.5 to 2 bighas) and its adjoining areas. The forest officials were quickly able to put out two of the fires, but it took them over three hours to bring the fire under control. ON P6 Wind blows away Telangana bridge AGENCIES Hyderabad A part of an under-construction bridge across the Manair River in Telangana's Peddapalli district collapsed on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. However, there were no casualties. The incident occurred in Odedu village of Mutharam mandal. Two girders collapsed due to strong winds. A tragedy was averted as the incident occurred past midnight when there was no one around. Villagers alerted police about the incident on Tuesday . The work on a kilome- tre-long bridge has been going on since 2016. The bridge was being constructed to connect Odedu to Garmillapalli village in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.
