(Detail on PG-2) MURDER IN MIST | Fast paced development on Sunday night led to arrest of four accused, 3 in MP and one in UP, surfacing of missing Sonam in Ghazipur of UP. As sun rose on Monday, the mystery unravelled shocking everyone BEWAFA Planned in Love, SONAM Ended in Blood Our Staff Reporter Honeymoon with no return ticket INDORE/SHILLONG/GHAZIPUR IF MY SISTER IS AT FAULT, SHE SHOULD BE HANGED, SAID GOVIND, BROTHER OF SONAM Sonam Raghuvanshi, 24, surrendered to police in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh on Monday. She and her husband Raja Raghuvanshi had married on May 11 and left for Meghalaya. They were last seen on May 23 after checking out of a homestay in Nongriat. On June 2, Raja’s body was found in a gorge near Weisawdong Falls, East Khasi Hills. A smartwatch, a tattoo, a woman’s shirt, medicine strip, and a bloodstained machete were recovered at the spot. Her raincoat was also found nearby. Police say Sonam plotted the murder with her alleged lover Raj Singh Kushwaha, hiring three of his friends— onam had allegedly arranged everything for their honeymoon — the destination, the dates, and even the tickets to Meghalaya. But as the chilling truth unfolded, a disturbing detail emerged: there were no return tickets. Police now believe this was no oversight. It was a sign — Sonam never intended to come back with Raja. For Uma Raghuvanshi, Raja’s grieving mother, that detail now haunts every memory. “My son didn’t want to go on a honeymoon so soon after the wedding,” she told reporters, her voice heavy with pain. “But Sonam insisted. He told me she had already booked the tickets to Meghalaya.” Uma said she told her son to go ahead with the trip if everything was planned. “I said, if she’s made the bookings, then go with her.” But what stuck with her then — and shocks her even more now — is what Raja said next: that no return tickets had been booked. “He told me they’d come back in six or seven days. I didn’t think much of it at the time,” she said. Now, those missing tickets appear to be a dark clue — pointing to a premeditated plan, not just a honeymoon gone wrong. S What began as a honeymoon ended in betrayal and death. The mysterious disappearance of newlyweds from Indore in Meghalaya has taken a chilling turn — with the arrest of the wife for allegedly orchestrating her husband’s murder. Sonam Raghuvanshi Akash Rajput (19) from Lalitpur, Vishal Chauhan (22) and Anand Kurmi (23) from Indore. All four have been arrested in raids across MP and UP.
