According to the GRP, two fast local trains—one bound for Karjat and another for CSMT from Kasara - the CSMT–Karjat Down Fast Local and the Kasara–CSMT Up Fast Local — were crossing each other on a curve in the railway line near Mumbra. Due to overcrowding and force of being pushed from within the coaches, passengers standing on the footboards of the Kasara local collided with passengers on the Karjat local, leading to several commuters falling from the trains. The incident occurred around 9:01 AM near Mumbra railway station. The Railways have ordered an inquiry. Sudhakar Shirsat, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Gov- ernment Railway Police (Incharge), Thane, stated that the incident occurred between Platforms 03 and 04. He said 13 passengers from both trains fell off due to the collision between individuals standing on the footboards. Eyewitnesses corroborated the same. Sailesh Jasiwal a friend of an injured commuter, Manish Saroj the mishap was the result of overcrowding and the force from within the coach on the curve between Mumbra and Diva railway stations when a Karjat-bound train was passing while the Kasara-CSMT train was also crossing the same section. 4Contd on | Nation 4See also | Mumbai Meghalaya death: Wife got husband killed Biswajeet Banerjee LUCKNOW In a twist to the case of a newly married couple who went missing during their honeymoon in Meghalaya, police on Monday revealed the wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, orchestrated the murder of her hus- band, Raja Raghuvanshi, a resident of Madhya Pradesh's Indore. Sonam was traced and recovered in a traumatised condition from Ghazipur in eastern Uttar Pradesh late Sunday night. Ghazipur police said she was found weeping and disoriented near a roadside eatery (dhaba) in Ankushapur. Following a call to the emergency police helpline 112 by the dhaba owner, police reached the spot and took the woman to a hospital. After initial treatment, she identified herself as Sonam Raghuvanshi and was shifted to a One Stop Centre for further care. The vessel, with a length of 399.9 metres and a width of 61.3 metres is expected to remain berthed until Tuesday. The MSC IRINA was launched in March 2023 and embarked on its maiden voyage in April of the same year. It is engineered to stack containers up to 26 tiers high, offering unparalleled capacity in container stacking. The deepwater port was formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 2.
