After releasing the cheetahs, the CM said that four more cheetahs will be brought in from Botswana in May and released into the Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary, bringing the total number of cheetahs there to six. Expressing happiness over the relocation of the two cheetahs, the CM said that efforts will be made to ensure that the Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary has air connectivity. A three-hour journey brought the cheetahs to Mandsaur. Around 5 pm, the CM released both the cheetahs in the presence of forest officials. The civil surgeon had been suspended, they said. The incident took place on April 17 when Uddhav Singh Joshi (70), a resident of Naugaon town, went to the district hospital in Chhatarpur for his wife’s medical check-up. It is alleged that the man was in the queue for a long time after getting the time slot slip. When his turn came, Dr Rajesh Mishra allegedly objected and then slapped and kicked him. In the viral video, two men can be seen holding the hands of Joshi and dragging him. The health department issued a notice to Dr Mishra and an FIR was registered against him at Naugaon police station under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 115(2), 296, 3(5) and 351(3), the officials said. Deputy chief minister Rajendra Shukla terminated the services of Dr Rajesh Mishra and the Red Cross employee Raghvendra Khare with immediate effect. He also suspended the civil Surgeon Dr GL Ahirvar.
