Trump said on social media his January executive order on digital assets would create a stockpile of currencies including bitcoin, ether, XRP, SOL and ADA. The names had not previously been announced. Bitcoin, the world's largest crypto currency by market value, was up around 8% at $90,828. Ether, the second largest crypto currency, was up 8.3% at $2,409. Trump, who won support from the crypto industry in his 2024 election bid, has quickly moved to back their policy priorities. Under his Democratic predecessor, Joe Biden, regulators cracked down on the industry in a bid to protect Americans from fraud and money laundering. In recent weeks crypto currency prices have been down sharply, with some of the biggest digital currencies erasing nearly all of the gains made after Trump's election win triggered a wave of excitement across the industry. This plan will eventually need a US endorsement. The indications came ahead of a summit in London on Sunday, where the British PM met with President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine and other European leaders to discuss the war. According to western media sources, these nations look set to assume key roles in a 'coalition of the willing' to enforce the peace deal with Russia. After hugging Zelensky on the steps of Lancaster House in London, Starmer told the gathering they must step up to a 'once in a generation moment.’ According to the Daily Mail, the leaders are also expected to ramp up defence spending with the British PM urging them to recognise the 'brutal reality' of the US pulling back from military guarantees given to allies. The Kerala Police on Sunday booked a man residing in the UAE for allegedly divorcing his 21-year-old wife by pronouncing triple talaq through a WhatsApp message. An FIR was registered by the Hosdurg police in Kasargod district under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Muslim Women (Protection of rights under Marriage) Act. Razak allegedly sent the triple talaq WhatsApp message to his father-in-law asking him to convey it to his daughter from Kalluravi in Kasargod district. 4Contd on | nation 4Contd on | nation EPIC duplication, not faking it FPJ News Service MUMBAI The Election Commission of India (ECI) has clarified that duplication in EPIC (Electors Photo Identity Card) numbers does not indicate fake or duplicate voters, addressing concerns over identical alphanumeric series appearing in different states. The Commission explained that before the adoption of the ERONET platform, some States and Union Territories followed a manual system that inadvertently led to the same EPIC numbers being assigned to different voters across separate constituencies. Despite these duplications, the ECI emphasized that every voter remains restricted to casting their ballot only at their designated polling station in their respective constituency. Even if two electors from different states share the same EPIC number, their demographic details, Assembly Constituency, and polling booth locations are entirely distinct, ruling out any possibility of electoral fraud. To eliminate concerns and prevent further confusion, the Commission announced that all registered voters will be assigned unique EPIC numbers. Any existing duplications will be rectified through updates in the ERONET 2.0 system, ensur- ing that every voter has a distinct identifier. The clarification follows recent social media reports and allegations by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who accused the BJP of manipulating voter rolls by adding fake voters from other states. However, West Bengal’s Chief Electoral Officer dismissed these claims, stating that the voter roll update process adheres strictly to legal protocols. According to Raut, Shinde complained about Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, frustrated that his authority was being systematically eroded. Alleged Conversation Between Shinde and Shah Amit Shah: "Shindeji, it’s 4 AM. What is so urgent?" Shinde: "You already know what is happening." Shah: "What exactly?"
