CAG report reveals loss of Rs 2,026 crore Agencies NEW DELHI A Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report on the Delhi government's excise policy revealed a revenue loss of Rs 2,026 crore to the state exchequer. The report's findings stated that there were deviations from the objective of the policy, a lack of transparency in pricing, and violations in issuing licenses that were not penalised. Of the losses worth Rs 2,026 crore to the state exchequer, the loss of Rs 890 crore resulted from the government's DELHI EXCISE POLICY CASE failure to re-tender the surrendered licenses before the policy period concluded, according to the report. Moreover, exemptions granted to the zonal licenses led to the loss of Rs 941 crore. The girls were allegedly forced to return home in their blazers without shirts beneath. At least 23 people have been injured in the incident. Six of them were pulled out of the debris and rushed to hospital, they said. The North Eastern Railway (NER) said it has constituted a three-member committee to probe the incident. Initial visuals from the site showed scenes of chaos and confusion with crowds, clouds of dust and broken beams as people tried to rescue those who had been trapped. In a shocking incident in Damoh, 11-year-old girl was kidnapped and gangraped by three men while on her way to a birthday party on Thursday night. Police said that the girl was abducted by one of the accused, who was known to her, along with two accomplices. They drove her to an isolated area near a pond, where they took turns assaulting her before fleeing the scene, leaving her unconscious. After regaining consciousness, the victim managed to return home and informed Three teams of police have been deployed to nab the accused. All three accused persons, involved in the crime, were still at large till Saturday afternoon her parents about the ordeal. They promptly took her to Damoh District Hospital, where she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Hospital staff, suspecting foul play, alerted the police, who confirmed the assault through medical examination. The police have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and POCSO Act. The SDM also recorded the girl’s statement at the hospital on Friday. Cops have identified the suspects and deployed three police teams to apprehend them. According to reports, the family members of one of theaccused (known to the victim) were questioned at the police station on Friday. As of Saturday afternoon, however, all three accused were still at large. BJP shows door to MiC member Yadav Our Staff Reporter BHOPAL The BJP central leadership is angry with the incident in which party’s corporator (IMC ward 24) and MiC member Jitu Yadav’s supporters allegedly entered the house of another corporator Kamlesh Kalra and stripped off his son. According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also come to know of the incident and took an ex- ception to it. The BJP leaders kept mum over the issue for the past five days, but they could not sweep the incident under the carpet, and the central leadership ultimately expressed their anger. After the central leadership’s anger, the party acted against Yadav in a hurry. According to sources, a reply was sought from the government and the organisation. After Yadav put in his papers for leaving the post, the BJP office expelled him from the party for six years. Party’s state general secretary Bhagwandas Sabnani wrote to Indore president saying that Yadav’s action was highly objectionable and it tarnished the party’s image. It is an act of indiscipline and the BJP’s state president VD Sharma expelled him from the primary membership of the party. Sharma said the Indore unit of the party was told to take action and that an FIR was registered against Yadav who was arrested. Yadav was issued a notice of indiscipline, Sharma said, adding that the party takes action against such people.
