President Draupadi Murmu gave away the award which was received by collector Asheesh Singh, IMC commissioner Shivam Verma and CEO of district panchayat, Sidhharth Jain The city is not only at the top of the country in cleanliness, now it has also become the top in the field of water conservation. It is noteworthy that the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation (DoWR, RD & GR) under the Ministry of Jal Shakti had announced 38 winners including joint winners in 9 categories for the 5th National Water Awards, 2023. These include Best State, Best District, Best Gram Panchayat, Best Urban Local Body, Best School or College, Best Industry, Best Water User Association, Best Institution (other than school or college) and Best Civil Society. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav congratulated the people after Indore got the award. Through Initiatives taken for conservation After getting the award, collector Asheesh Singh congratulated the people of the district. He said that in rural areas, water conservation is being done by changing crop patterns and crops needing less water are being cultivated, and efforts are on to rejuvenate rivers. In urban areas, water conservation is being done through rainwater harvesting. a social media message, he said that the State is committed towards the conservation and the use of every drop of water.
