SC to consider listing plea against scientific survey of Bhojshala ASI submits 2,000 page report in HC Our Staff Reporter NEW DELHI/INDORE Even as the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) submitted its scientific survey report of the disputed Bhojshala complex in Dhar to Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court, the Supreme Court on Monday agreed to consider listing a plea against the "scientific survey". A petition was filed in the apex court by the Maulana Kamaluddin Welfare Society challenging the March 11 order of the High Court for the "scientific survey" of the "Bhojshala", a medieval-era structure in Dhar district which both Hindus and Muslims claim as their own, to ascertain it belonged to which community. In its March 11 order, the High Court order had directed the ASI to carry out a survey of the Bhojshala complex within six weeks and submit its report, the deadline which later was extended till July 15. Custodial death on wedding day FP News Service GUNA A 25-year-old man, Devendra Pardi, who was allegedly involved in a theft case, died in police custody on Sunday at Myana police station in Guna district, police said on Monday. Devendra, resident of Bilakhedi village, had cases related to robbery, theft, and an attempt to murder case registered against him. Inspector General of Police (Gwalior Zone), Arvind Saxena, reported that Pardi was brought in for questioning after one of his partners confessed to a theft case. During interrogation, Pardi complained of deteriorating health and was subsequently taken to the district hospital in Guna, where he passed away. "A judicial inquiry under the provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sahita (BNS) is underway," IG Saxena said. "A Panchnama has been prepared, and the post-mortem has also been done. Further actions will depend on the findings of the judicial inquiry." The incident coincided with Pardi's wedding day, adding to the family's distress. Forest team managed to pick up body of the dead cub but could not rescue the two injured cubs as tigress appeared on the scene forcing the forest team to beat a hasty retreat. District Forest The dead cub Ranger, MS Dabar told the Free Press that on getting the information that a dead cub was lying on Midghat railway track (at compartment number 628 of forest area), forest officials including SDO rushed to the spot.
