The ruling alliance in all likelihood will open its account in Tamil Nadu and Kerala and sweep Karnataka but may see a fall in its tally in states like Bihar, Rajasthan and Haryana, according to these pollsters. The Republic TV-P Marq poll claimed that the ruling alliance will win up to 359 seats and the opposition INDIA bloc will bag 154 seats in the 543-member Lok Sabha. The Republic TVMatrize poll gave 353-368 seats to the NDA and 118-133 seats to the opposition. The Jan Ki Baat poll gave 362392 seats to the ruling NDA and 141-161 to the opposition alliance. The India TV-CNX gave them 371-401 and 109-139 seats respectively, while the corresponding tally predicted by News Nation was 342-378 and 153-169. After the seventh and last phase of voting ended on Saturday, Modi exuded confidence that people have voted in record numbers to re-elect the NDA government and said the "opportunistic INDI Alliance" failed to strike a chord with the voters who rejected their "regressive politics". There were 11 people in the boat and four of them were rescued. The incident occurred in Manpur, about 40 km from Sheopur district headquarters, around 4:45 pm. Locals claimed that strong wind was blowing at the time of the incident. Sheopur collector Lokesh Kumar Jangid told media "At least 11 people were on board the boat when it sank. Four were rescued, while seven others were rushed to a hospital". “We can't comment on their condition. Doctors will take a call,” he added. It was later informed that seven people had died in the incident. The dead include Parshuram Ram 25, his wife Parwanta and his son Shyam10 and Ravindra, Arti-16, Lali-15 and her brother Bhupendra-4 years. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed grief over the incident and instructed energy minister Pradummn Singh Tomar to reach the spot and take stock of the situation. He prayed for the well being of affected people. AGENCIES / New Delhi Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has to return to Tihar jail here today as he failed to get any immediate relief from a court on Saturday on his plea for interim bail. As per the Supreme Court's order of May 10, Kejriwal was ordered to be released on interim bail for election campaign till June 1 and he was directed to surrender and go back to Tihar jail on June 2. The case being probed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) relates to alleged corruption and money laundering in the formulation and execution of the Delhi government's now-scrapped excise policy for 2021-22. Special Judge Kaveri Baweja reserved the order, observing that the application was for grant of interim bail on medical grounds and not for the extension of the interim bail granted by the Supreme Court. Bhopal (rural) SP Pramod Kumar Sinha said that a man in Nishatpura hacked his wife, singed and dismembered the body in many pieces to prevent identification. He later disposed the parts in different areas of Bhopal. The gory crime came to fore after the man was arrested by a joint team of Eintkhedi and Nishatpura police. The skeletal remains of the woman were discovered by Eintkhedi police on Saturday, from Arvaliya Khanti. Upon informing the Nishatpura police, Eintkhedi police learnt that the woman had gone missing since May 21. The panel would submit its report on July 15. The court also ordered inspection 169 colleges declared suitable by the CBI. Though the court hoped that ‘once bitten twice shy’ CBI would attentively re-inspect the colleges, it deemed apposite to induct a judicial officer in the team. Accordingly, the court directed that the CBI team would be accompanied by Registrar of District Court of respective district where inspection is to be conducted. Principal District Judge of that particular district where the colleges are situated, would accord permission for making Registrar of District Court a part of the CBI team. During inspection, videography would also be done so that if needed the court could ascertain veracity of report. Let the inspection be triggered immediately by the CBI and concluded within a period of three months, said the court. Apart from this, deficient colleges claiming to have removed deficiencies pointed out by the CBI would have to satisfy the three-member committee constituted earlier by placing sufficient material regarding overcoming of deficiencies. Simultaneously, the Court observed that nursing education was not possible without practical education and learning.
