With the significant move, the vaccines are expected to be widely available soon at hospitals and clinics registered with the government portal CoWIN. The development comes as the government deliberates over the booster dose policy. Precautionary third doses of vaccines -- announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last month - are now being given to health and frontline workers and adults above 60 years of age, dealing with illnesses. The recommended period, however, between the second and the third dose is currently nine months. The recommendation by the expert panel of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has been sent to the top drug regulator DGCI. MANY FAMILIES have pasted ‘Ye Ghar Bikau Hai’ notice on their house A number of Hindu families in Surana village of Ratlam district have put their houses up for sale. They have written the message ‘Ye Ghar Bikau Hai’ either on walls or gate of the house. Blaming the Muslims of the village, the Hindus have threatened mass exodus. On Tuesday, they met the district collector and handed over a memorandum demanding safety and security. According to reports, the population of the village, located around 15 km from district headquarters, is 2,200. Muslims constitute 60% of the population. “There are at least 85 houses of Hindus in the village. They (Muslim community) have been harassing us. They molest our women and girls. When we object they beat us up,” Om Prakash Jat, a resident of the village, said. Another villager Bharat Lal Jat said that whenever Hindu families lodge complaint, police register crosscases. “They beat up our children and youths and harass us. When we lodge complaints, police make cross-cases. We have been pissed off with the situation, therefore we want to migrate,” Jat added. As photographs of these ‘victim’ families’ houses went viral on social media, BJP weans away Mulayam's Chotti Bahu Aparna APARNA'S INDUCTION SHOWS 'WOMEN FEELING SAFE IN BJP' In a big catch in the runup to the Assembly polls, the BJP has finally earned some brownie points by weaning away a member of the Mulayam Singh Yadav household. More than 400 lives were at risk after Bengaluru take-off More than four hundred lives were in jeopardy as two IndiGo planes averted mid-air collision over the Bengaluru airport just after take-off on the morning of January 9. The radar controller saw the impending danger and took corrective actions, a preliminary report by the aviation regulator DGCA has said. The incident was not entered in the logbook and it was not reported by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) either, sources said. DGCA officials have revealed that the two IndiGo planes -- 6E455 (Bengaluru to Kolkata) and 6E246 (Bengaluru to Bhubaneswar) -were involved in 'breach of separation' at Bengaluru airport. Breach of separation happens when two aircraft cross the minimum mandatory vertical or horizontal distance in an airspace. Both these aircraft departed from Bengaluru airport within a span of approximately 5 minutes on the morning of January 9, the officials said. The radar controller made an intervention when he noticed that both aircraft after take-off were moving towards each other. Bengaluru airport operates two runways - north and south. On January 7 morning, flights were taking off from the north runway and landing on the south runway. On the 9th, a shift in-charge of runway operations decided to use a single runway, the north one, for both landings and take-offs, the report said. The south runway was accordingly closed, but it was not conveyed to the south tower controller. district collector and Superintendent of Police (SP) rushed to the village and are holding a meeting with villagers. “There was a dispute between two youths over some issue. We have been talking to them and will settle the issue,” Gaurav Tiwari said. Meanwhile, Home Minister Narottam Mishra said, “We have taken cognizance and instructed SP and Collector to provide proper security to victim families.” ED raids against Channi's relatives will help Cong in Punjab polls: Kharge Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge came out in support of Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Wednesday over the ED raids against his relatives and said this "vendetta" will help the party emerge victorious in the upcoming state Assembly polls.
