Can't do more on CI on loans: Govt New Delhi: The BJP-led Central government has told the Supreme Court that going any further than the fiscal policy decisions already taken, such as waiver of compound interest charged on loans of up to Rs two crore for six months moratorium period, may be "detrimental" to the overall economic scenario, the national economy and banks may not take "inevitable financial constraints". Earlier, the Centre had told the Supreme Court (SC) that it had decided to waive compound interest (interest on interest) charged on such loans due to the pandemic from individual borrowers in eight categories. The police must take action in crimes against women and complete the investigation in two months in cases of sexual assault, the Centre has told state and Union Territories, amid massive outrage over the Hathras crime. An advisory sent out on Friday by the Home Ministry requires the police to register an FIR in case of a cognisable offence under the CrPC. FPJ BUREAU New Delhi The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has released draft rules for citizens to seek an international driving licence through its portal www.parivahan.gov.in. The draft rules talk of no requirement of a medical certificate and a valid visa for the licence. The public can submit their objections and suggestions to the proposed rules within 30 days before they are finalised under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. Sources said the rules are meant to help those Indians whose international driving permit gets expired while abroad and there is no mechanism for its renewal. The conditions laid down for the licence are: a valid driving licence issued by the licensing authority proof , being an Indian, proof of passport and three photos.
