The judge, however, escaped by bending down in time. The incident took place at a court in Agar district on Monday when the judge was hearing a case, the police said. Meanwhile, the two advocates representing the two different parties got involved in a heated argument, which the judge objected to. This enraged advocate Nitin Atal, who was already engaged in a verbal argument with his opponent, who all of a sudden took out his shoe and threw it towards the judge. The judge, however, bent down in time to save himself. The judge later informed the local police about the incident and a case has been registered against Nitin Atal. The Cabinet approved the proposal to amend Water Pollution Redressal and Control Act 1974. It will be sent to Parliament. The proposal wants to remove small offences of water pollution from the offence list and proposes a fine instead.It was also decided that PM College of Excellence would be established in every district of the state. ON P8 Ram Lalla to be called Balak Ram Despite Pak's protest, CM firm on Akhand Bharat stand AYODHYA: The new Ram Lalla idol consecrated at the grand Ram temple on Monday will be known as "Balak Ram" as it depicts the deity as a five-year-old boy in a standing posture. "The idol of Lord Ram, whose consecration was done on January 22, has been named as 'Balak Ram'. The reason for naming the idol of Lord Ram as 'Balak Ram' is that he resembles a child, whose age is five years," Arun Dixit, a priest associated with the consecration ceremony told PTI. "The first time I saw the idol, I was thrilled and tears started rolling down my face. I cannot explain the feeling I experienced then," he added. The Varanasi-based priest, who has conducted nearly 50-60 consecrations, said, "Of all the consecrations (I have) performed so far, this is the most 'alaukik (divine)' and 'sarvoch' (supreme) for me." Dixit said he had the first glimpse of the idol on January 18. CONTD. Sources said that Jwala is taking well care of her new born cubs and is often seen feeding them. Notably, it was in March 2023 that Jwala had given birth to four cubs. Of them three died due to extreme heat and only one is surviving. As the lone surviving cub was not accepted by Jwala after the deaths of three cubs in last summer, hence it is being hand raised by the officials of Kuno National Park. Assam CM asks DGP to file case against Rahul GUWAHATI: The Congress' Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra was fraught with confrontation between the Congress and Assam government on Tuesday, as Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma directed Director General of Police G P Singh to register a case against the MP for allegedly provoking a crowd to break barricades. The barricades were erected along a highway to prevent Congress leaders and supporters taking part in the Yatra from entering the main thoroughfares of Guwahati, the largest city of the northeastern state. As Congress supporters removed the barricades, a scuffle with the police personnel ensued leading to injuries suffered by state Congress president Bhupen Borah and leader of the opposition in the state assembly Debabrata Saikia. This is the sixth day of the party's Nyay Yatra in Assam. Addressing the public from atop a bus, Gandhi said that they have broken barricades but 'we will not break the law'. Civil Line police post incharge Amar Singh told media persons, that the accused Bandhavgarh SDM Amit Singh, Bandhavgarh tehsildar Vinod Kumar, driver of SDM Narendra Das Panika and supporter of tehsildar Sandeep Singh, are booked under different sections of IPC. The complainant Prakash Dahiya, who sustained injuries on his head and elsewhere, claimed that people sitting in the vehicle with ‘SDM’ written on it got down and thrashed him and another car occupant Shivam Yadav, both residents of Bharola village, for overtaking. They also broke the window panes of his car, Dahiya alleged. Dahiya told the police that he was coming back from Khaira to Bharola, places in the district, in a car with the other youth Shivam Yadav, who was driving it on Monday evening. They met with SDM's car on the way and Shivam overtook the SDM's car. After this, the SDM's car started chasing their car. "As we drove a little further, the tehsildar's car coming from the Umaria side stopped in front of their car near Tala road, Ghaghri village and we stopped our car. Two people got down from both the vehicles with sticks and started beating me and Shivam. They also vandalised Shivam's car and damaged it. Shivam and I suffered a lot of injuries. They also abused them," Dahiya told the police. The police have registered the case against the accused under IPC sections 294, 323, 341 and 34.
