Upon police's arrival at the scene, the accused left the victim and fled. A case has been registered against them. During the meeting held in Delhi, information was taken about the well being of cheetahs kept in Kuno National Park. Discussion also took place on when to release the cheetah into open jungle. Though senior officials of state shied away fromanswering the question when cheetahs will be released into the wild, it is learnt that committee has decided to release cheetahs in phased manner that also after the monsoon season. When contacted, field director of Kuno National Park, Uttam Sharma told Free Press that Cheetahs are supposed to be released into the wild but he refused to tell the exact time. Notably, at least twelve cheetahs are inside big en- closures in Kuno from last one year. Only one Cheetah Pawan is in open range. Apart from this, there are at least thirteen cubs. Poll sop: Centre unfurls unified pension scheme Gaurav Vivek Bhatnagar NEW DELHI The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Saturday approved the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) under which nearly 2.3 million central government employees will receive 50 per cent of their last drawn basic salary as pension. Announcing the salient features of the scheme, Union Minister Ashwini Vaisnav said there are three key pillars of the UPS. He said the pension scheme assures 50 per cent of the average basic salary for the last 12 months before retirement as pension for government employees who have completed a minimum of 25 years in service. This pay will be proportionate for a lesser service period up to a minimum of 10 years of service. Further, the minister said, under the family pension scheme, the family would be able to immediate withdraw 60 percent of the employee’s pension upon their demise. The third main aspect of the scheme is that it would assure a minimum pension of Rs 10,000 per month after retirement for those government employees who have completed a minimum of 10 years of service. The minister said as per the current pension scheme, the employees are required to contribute 10 per cent while the central government contributes 14 per cent while under the UPS this percentage of government share will be increased to 18 per cent. Tribal youth ends life in lockup, 4 cops suspended FP News Service KHANDWA A tribal youth, Dharmendra Singh, allegedly committed suicide inside the lockup of Pandhana police station on Friday night. He had been brought in for questioning for bike thefts. The 25-year-old, accused of multiple bike thefts, reportedly used a torn bedsheet to fashion a noose, climbed onto a bucket, and hanged himself from the window rod of the lockup. The incident, which occurred around 10 pm, has led to the suspension of four police personnel, including Pandhana police station incharge Vikas Khinchi, sub-inspector Himal Damor, and constables Narayan and Anil. A judicial inquiry has been initiated to investigate the circumstances leading to the tragic event.
