AI PILOT DEPORTED TO INDIA FROM US NEW DELHI: An Indian pilot of Air India was handcuffed in front of passengers and deplaned by US law enforcement authorities on allegations related to accessing and downloading child pornography, officials of the national carrier said on Sunday. The incident took place at San Francisco on Monday and the pilot was deplaned by the authorities soon after his plane landed from New Delhi, they added. "The US authorities seized his passport, cancelled his visa and deported him back to India," the Air India officials said on the condition of anonymity. "The pilot was under the scanner of US law enforcement authorities for accessing and downloading child pornography," the officials added. The spokesperson of Air India did not respond to queries related to the matter. The fate of the political parties will be sealed on May 23, when the votes are counted. The long drawn poll schedule seems to favour the BJP: multi-phased voting in UP Bihar and West Bengal will help the , ruling party run a concerted campaign. These three states, which account for 162 Lok Sabha seats, will have a seven-phase election. Odisha, which sends 21 members to the Lok Sabha, will see a fourphase election. In fact, this the first time that Odisha will have a multi-phase election. Together, these four states account for one-third of the Lok Sabha seats. The BJP is hoping that a good performance in West Bengal and Odisha will help it compensate for losses in the Hindi heartland states, where it performed remarkably well in the last Lok Sabha elections. Three of these states -- Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan -are now ruled by the Congress.
