Pointing out that the government was "speedily" clearing the collegium recommendations for the appointment of judges to the High Courts, Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, sitting with Justice Sanjiv Khanna, told counsel Prashant Bhushan: "As CJI, I must say that government has speedily cleared the files and only 27 are pending (with the government) and there are 70 to 80 proposals pending with the collegiums." Chief Minister Kamal Nath launched farm loan waiver scheme in Ratlam and Yuva Swabhimaan Yojana in Bhopal. In the first phase of farm loan waiver, 25L farmers would become debtfree. The work to distribute certificate of 100 days employment to youths has also begun. They would get Rs 4,000/ month for 100 days under the scheme. Rolling out Yuva Swabhimaan Yojana, Nath targetted PM Narendra Modi and said that five years back he had talked about Skill India and Digital India five years ago, but nothing was done. “PM Modi may claim of giving Rs 6000 per year to farmers but our government is giving Rs 13,000 per year to youth,” said Nath.
