The committee had declared the caste certificate of Dhurve to be fake in 2017 following a complaint. However, Dhurve approached the High Court and got a stay on the order of this committee. Later, the Member of Parliament appealed in the committee again to reconsider its decision. Dhurve still has an option of approaching the court to challenge the committee’s verdict but it seems that the ruling Congress might take advantage of the situation in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
