The passenger, identified as Jawahar Ali, was de-boarded and rushed to hospital, however, the attending doctors declared him dead on arrival. Airport Director Anil Vikram Singh said, “Air passenger of Air India died due to cardiac arrest in flight. Bangalore to Delhi direct flight made an emergency landing at 6:30pm.” Our staff provided all possible help as per the protocol, he added. Ali had boarded the flight from Bangalore and was heading to Delhi. On-board, he complained of uneasiness. The crew members and co-passengers provided him some first aid, however, seeing his condition deteriorating the matter was reported to the pilot. Authorities at airport were informed by the pilot that a passenger has suffered a heart attack and they would have to make an emergency landing. The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar to appear before the CBI and faithfully co-operate in the probe into the Saradha chit fund scam, but said he must not be arrested. A bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice L. Nageswara Rao and Justice Sanjiv Khanna said the CBI must not resort to any coercive action, including arresting the officer. Directing the Kolkata Police Commissioner to "appear and make himself available before the investigating agency ... the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)", the court order said that he would "faithfully cooperate with the investigating agency at all times". In a rider, the court said, "however, we make it clear that no coercive steps including arrest shall be taken against the Commissioner of Police". Reiterating that July 31 deadline for the completion of NRC exercise will not be extended, a bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said the Centre is not cooperating in the NRC process and it seems the entire effort of the MHA is to destroy the NRC process. The apex court asked the Election Commission to consider exempting certain state officers from election duty to ensure that NRC process continues. The top court had said on January 24 that the July 31, 2019 deadline to finalise the NRC for Assam cannot be extended. The doctor Sunil Mantri who had alleged illicit relations with the driver’s wife used four medical tools to commit the crime. Nevertheless, the story of the doctor’s heinous crime did not end. After murdering his driver Virendra Pachori, Mantri tried to dissolve his body parts in acid. When Mantri was dissolving the body parts of Police caught him red-handed while dissolving body parts of deceased his victim, the police reached his house and arrested him from his residence from where an acid can and some operation tools were recovered. The doctor has been posted to the government hospital in Itarsi. Superintendent of police Arvind Saxena said Mantri was arrested when he was trying to put the chopped body parts into acid. Sources in the police department said Mantri had alleged illicit relations with his driver’s wife and when he had objected to it, he was bumped off. Giving details of the crime, Saxena said the doctor had killed Pachori on Monday evening. Before murdering Pachori, the doctor gave him anaesthesia and took him to his operation theatre, the police said, adding that the driver’s wife may have had a role in the crime. After committing the crime, Mantri took the body of Pachori to the toilet in the second floor of his residence. The doctor had bought huge quantity of acid from a shop without taking permission, Saxena said.
